Women Caring for the Land Learning Circle
We invite you to join us for a virtual learning circle discussion on September 21st from 1 – 3 p.m. CT to learn more about ways you can make changes to improve the long-term value of your farm while maintaining short-term profitability for your farm tenant.
A panel of women landowners will tell their stories and answer questions about how they have helped their tenant transition to using cover crops and no-till/strip-till, pollinator plantings, Prairie Strips, CRP and more. You will learn how to spot whether you need to change practices to protect your most valuable farm asset – the soil! Lee Tesdell, whose farm is located near Slater, will be the farm host for the event. Lee will share details about the numerous benefits he’s seen using cover crops and will extend an invitation to anyone interested in visiting his farm to see his conservation practices in real time. More information about this will be shared at the meeting on the 21st. Also included in the presentation portion will be short videos, slides with pictures, and the speakers on camera. We’ll also have time for participants to meet each other and share their expertise through small group break-out rooms.
This event will be hosted on-line using Zoom and you can ask questions of each other and the presenters either publicly or privately through the chat box. There will be an option to join us by phone for those who can’t join by computer – details for this will be shared when you register. Note: this event will note be recorded, it will be a live event only.
