Humble Hands Harvest Seed Saving Field Day and Potluck

When we plant a seed, we plant hope into the soil. When we save seed, we commit to preserving that hope, multiplying it, and carrying it into the future. Join us, and Humble Hands Harvest for a community field day and potluck celebrating the miracles contained inside a seed, and explore the different ways that farmers in the Upper Midwest are saving seeds on their own farms.
During the half-day out on the farm, we will share a locally sourced meal, check out Humble Hands’ seed-saving infrastructure, and share resources and experience between farmers and seed savers alike.
Humble Hands is an organic worker-owned cooperative in Northeastern Iowa growing veggies, raising pasture-raised animals, and building soil health for generations to come through the perennial nut and fruit trees on their 22 acres. Hannah Breckbill, one of Humble Hands’ co-farmers, is also an HOP Mentor with WFAN and has served on our board in years past. We are super excited to share this field day with them and connect to other growers through the joy and art of seed-saving. Special thanks to our funder Ceres Trust for supporting this event! We hope to see you there!
