Active Hope: Building Resilience by Sharing our Stories

Registration is closed for this event
Light a candle, get cozy, and join us as we examine this current moment in the world through a lens of active hope. This workshop series is offered in collaboration with Annie Warmke of Blue Rock Station.

Light a candle, get cozy, and join us as we examine this current moment in the world through a lens of active hope. Guided by the teachings of ecophilospher Joanna Macy, facilitator Annie Warmke will share her life experiences embodying Active Hope, and invite story sharing about how Active Hope can be a bridge toward positive change in our own lives. This 2-part workshop series will offer attendees a framework for Active Hope, and connect them to a larger community of practice around the world that uses Active Hope to face the world with resilience.

You are invited to find a copy of Active Hope by Joanna Macy and Dr. Chris Johnstone to support your time in these sessions. (The book is not required reading, but a very helpful tool for the journey.)

Session #1:

March 7th, 7:00-8:30 CST/8:00-9:30 EST

Following individual review of the Active Hope program and materials, participants will connect for a virtual workshop detailing the template of Active Hope, and imagine the ways that they might apply the framework to their own lives. The session will be facilitated by farmer, activist, and WFAN mentor Annie Warmke.

Session #2:

March 21st, 7:00-8:30 CST/8:00-9:30 EST

After taking time to absorb the Active Hope Template, participants will gather once more to understand how they can use Active Hope to respond to collective pain in the world. There will be space for story sharing and reflections on ways that Active Hope can be a bridge toward positive change, and further opportunities to stay connected to this community.
