James Micthell is an environmental attorney and advocate, with nearly 15 years of experience in working to protect our oceans and all of us who depend on it. He is the current Legislative Director at the North America Marine Alliance, leading their Don't Cage Our Oceans campaign. James received his law degree from American University, Washington College of Law, and his bachelor’s in science from Tufts University. Today, he is based in Arlington, VA.

Anthony Pahnke is an Associate Professor at San Francisco State University, a Steering Committe member on Don't Cage Our Oceans, and Vice-President of the Family Farm Defenders, a member group of La Via Campesina/North America. A family farmer himself, Anthony's research and writing has focused on development and trade policy, social movements, and agrarian politics, with a focus on North and South America. Anthony received his Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities.
