Lunch will be provided, and we will have safety gear and equipment available, though you are welcome to bring your own if preferred.
Tickets are $25, but current WFAN members will recieve a discounted rate of $20. If you are not sure if your membership is current, please contact info@wfan.org.
Erin Hosto will be our guest speaker for this event. Erin is a tallgrass prairie enthusiast who has been active in the field for the last 5 years. Upon graduating from Cornell College with a BA in Biology and Environmental Studies in 2021, she got her start in land stewardship with a summer internship at Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation. From there, she spent two years serving as an AmeriCorps member with Bur Oak Land Trust in Iowa City, where she bettered her sawyer abilities and learned about prescribed fire, woodland and prairie management, and habitat monitoring. She currently works with Eocene Environmental Group's (formally Impact7G) Restoration Department, where she has been honing her skills for the last 3 years. Together, they conduct land management in the form of prairie seeding, tree planting, invasive species management, prescribed fire, habitat monitoring, and much more for clients across Iowa.
