Ticks in Iowa: How to Prevent Lyme Disease and Other Stuff Ticks Spread

Tick season is in full swing, and you may have already had your first encounter with one of the many tick species this year! Join us for an educational webinar to learn how to protect yourself and your family from ticks, what to do if you do get a tick on you, and the tick-borne diseases you want to keep an eye out for. While focused on Iowa, this webinar should be relevant to anyone living where ticks roam!

Our presenter Angela Horvath (she/her) is a PhD student in Occupational and Environmental Health at the University of Iowa, where she researches vector-born disease under Prof. Kathryn Dalton. Angela’s diverse career includes roles such as Peace Corps volunteer, environmental educator with the National Park Service, health policy analyst, youth nonprofit leader, HIV grant administrator, and hospital proposal writer. Currently, she is training AI to do her laundry so that she can spend more time with Iowa ticks.
